DETROIT – The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team defeated the University of Findlay, 162-128, at the Matthaei Natatorium on Friday night.
Senior
Gloria Martinez Perez (Merida, Spain) touched first in the 50 freestyle in 24.74 and the 100 freestyle in 53.40.
Senior
Kristina Novichenko (Seversk, Russia) took first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.41.
Junior
Mallory Moore (West Bloomfield, Mich.) won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:48.75 and classmate
Manuela Ferreira (Ibague, Colombia) won the 50 backstroke in 31.48.
Sophomore
Emily Maraskine (Midland, Mich. / Dow) placed first in the 50 backstroke with a time of 26.84 and took second in the 100 backstroke (58.73).
Freshman
Skyler Muzichuk (Clinton Twp., Mich. / International Academy of Macomb) took second in the 200 freestyle (1:59.59) and classmate
Makayla Myers (Hudsonville, Mich.) claimed second in the 100 butterfly (1:00.56). Muzichuk also went second in the 500 freestyle (5:20.9).
In diving, sophomore
Elizabeth Rawlings (Armada, Mich. / Romeo) won the one-meter dive with 271.85 points and the three-meter board with 272.90 points.
Wayne State returns to the pool Saturday taking on Eastern Michigan at the Matthaei beginning at 1 p.m.
