DETROIT – The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team dropped, 178-116, to Division I opponent Oakland in the first meet of the regular season on Friday evening inside the Matthaei Natatorium. The Warriors won six events over the Golden Grizzlies, five individual and one relay.
RELAY RESULTS- WSU claimed the top-3 finishes in the 200 free relay with junior
Josh Schacht (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Mattawan), senior

Mitch Bohr (Novi, Mich. / Walled Lake Northern) finished third with a mark of 1:36.46.

Juan David Molina Perez (Medellin, Colombia), freshman
Ahmed Ahmed (Alexandria, Egypt), Olsen and Schacht finished second in the 200 medley relay with a mark of 1:34.47. Two other Warrior teams competed in this relay, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS- Schacht won the 50 free in a time of 21.56 with Gensheimer finishing right behind (21:66). Vallee and Winn also competed in this event.
- Molina Perez claimed first in the 200 back (1:49.07) and also finished first in the 100 back with a mark of 49.91. The junior broke two Matthaei pool records in both events, which were set in 2010 (100 back) by Grand Valley State's Raphael Santos and 2012 (200 back) by Eastern Michigan's Jacob Hansom. Drobnych also garnered a third-place finish (52.84) in his first meet donning the Green and Gold.
- Olsen won his first collegiate event, the 100 fly, with a time of 50.59. The freshman topped Oakland's Devon Nowicki by .22 seconds.
- In his collegiate debut, Ahmed won the 200 IM in 2:03.24. Bohr and White took second and third place with marks of 2:05.89 and 2:16.34, respectively.
- Ahmed also placed second in the 200 free (1:44.79), and Roshak posted a fourth-place finish with a mark of 1:48.08.
- Olsen claimed second place in the 200 fly with a time of 1:53.19, while Roshak touched the finish line in 47.73 for a second-place finish in the 100 free.
- Sophomore
Khayman Jones (Adrian, Mich.) recorded 215.70 points in the 3-meter diving to finish fourth.
UP NEXT - WSU will travel to Ashland for the first GLIAC match of the regular season on Nov. 7. The meet is slated for 1 p.m. at Messerly Natatorium. The Warriors defeated the Eagles, 132-103, during the 2014-15 season.
