LAST  TIME OUT
Lewis Recap
Wayne State (5-4 overall) concluded its pre-holiday schedule with a 90-76 setback at home against No. 7-ranked Lewis University (10-1 overall) on Dec. 20.

The visiting Flyers tallied the first 17 points of the contest as the Warriors were held scoreless until a triple by Brittany Streetman with just over five minutes left in the opening period.

LU answered with a lay-up by Jessica Kelliher and a conventional three-point play by Mariyah Brawner-Henley to increase its lead to 19 (22-3).  WSU's Shannon Wilson drained a three, and Streetman added a fast-break bucket off a feed from Wilson.

A 10-5 run by Wayne State cut its deficit to eight (27-19) in the final seconds of the opening stanza with Ashley Wilson leading the way with five points.  Lewis' Tierney Lockett hit a jumper at the end of the period to give the Flyers a 29-19 advantage after 10 minutes.

The Warriors finished the first quarter shooting 6-of-14 after starting 0-for-5 with three turnovers before getting on the scoreboard.

WSU pulled within eight at 31-23 on a fast-break lay-up by Shannon Wilson, but LU responded with a 16-4 run over the final 8:30 of the second period gave the Flyers a 47-27 lead at intermission.  Wayne State made just 1-of-13 from the floor in the second quarter compared to 7-of-15 for Lewis.
LU's Brawner-Henley led all scorers after 20 minutes with 17 points and six rebounds.

Wayne State trailed by at least 17 points until the final 65 seconds.

Streetman totaled a career-high 26 points which included five triples equaling a career-best set against Ferris State on Feb. 21, 2013.

Shannon Wilson set a career-high with five triples in scoring 17 points.

Ajai Meeks grabbed a team-best six rebounds.

Brawner-Henley recorded a game-best 31 points and 11 rebounds, while Kelliher chipped in 19 points to lead for Lewis players in double figures.  Alyssa Siwek dished out a game-high 10 helpers while adding 11 points.

The Yellow Jackets, a Midwest Regional opponent, are 1-3 this season against GLIAC schools with a 72-43 triumph at Ferris State along with setbacks to Ashland (62-43), Ohio Dominican (81-74 2-OT) and Tiffin (79-68).  The one common opponent is Indianapois as CU posted a 47-44 victory at UIndy two days prior to WSU's 93-71 win on Nov. 19.

STREETMAN HITS A MILESTONE

Streetman equaled a career-high with five triples vs. Lewis on Dec. 20 to move past Sickmiller and trails Chastidy Miller (2005-09) by two for ninth place.

This season, Streetman is averaging a team-best 14.0 points per game and is shooting 35.9 percent (14-for-39) from beyond the arc.  She has scored in double figures seven times this year and tallied a career-high 26 points against Lewis.  It was her third game this year of at least 20 points.  Streetman ranks 12th in school history (min. 30 made) with a 33.5 career three-point field goal percentage (105-313).
