ALLENDALE, Mich.—The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team went head-to-head at GLIAC rival Grand Valley State on Saturday afteroon, but fell short 172-128.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Senior
Elizabeth Rawlings (Armada, Mich./Romeo) won both diving events with a score of 275.63 in the three-meter as well as a score of 242.55 in the one-meter. The Warriors also took second and third in the three-meter as freshman
Mia Teifer (Trenton, Mich./Monroe Saint Mary Catholic Central) notched a 218.24 and senior
Holly Krill (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central) posted a 215.85.
Senior
Brenna Gabrielson (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) powered the Warriors to a first-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 59.87.
Sophomore
Lezlie Bueno Estrada (Montes Urales, Mexico) won the 50 free in 24.45 while junior
Makayla Myers (Hudsonville, Mich.) took third marking a time of 25.52.
Bueno Estrada was victorious in her second event of the day when she took the 100 free in 53.33.
Senior
Emily Heitchue (Royal Oak, Mich.) and freshman
Kate Svisco (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower) led the way for the Warriors taking second and third in the 200 breast with Heitchue recording a time of 2:29.06 and Svisco posting a 2:29.79.
Myers finished first in the 200 butterfly notching a time of 1:00.98.
Senior
Manuela Ferreira (Ibague, Colombia) took second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.20.
RELAY RESULTS
The foursome of senior
Emily Maraskine (Midland, Mich./Dow), Ferreira, Myers and Bueno Estrada led the way for the Warriors taking second in the 400 medley notching a time of 4:00.06 while the quartet Gabrielson, Heitchue, junior
Abi Johns (Holland, Mich.) and junior
Meghan Lamb (East China, Mich./St. Clair) took third in 4:01.20.
The team of Bueno Estrada, Heitchue, freshman
Aliza Durack (West Bloomfield, Mich.) and Lamb powered the Green & Gold to a second place finish in the 400 free posting a time of 3:40.60 while the group of Myers, Gabrielson, freshman
Ashlen Michalski (Shelby Twp./Eisenhower) and sophomore
Emily Marginean (Tecumseh, Ont./Riverside S.S.) garnered third place recording a time of 3:44.04.
