STORYLINES

THE SERIES
WSU trails 26-48 in the all-time series against Grand Valley State.  The Green and Gold have lost six consecutive games in the series since an 89-63 triumph against the 17th-ranked Lakers in Detroit on Jan. 2, 2015.  Earlier this season, Wayne State fell 73-42 in Allendale.  The Warriors have a 17-18 record at the Matthaei vs. GVSU.

After a 70-56 victory at Davenport in December, WSU leads 2-1 in the all-time series versus the Panthers.  Wayne State is 1-0 in Detroit following a 43-36 triumph on Jan. 27, 2018.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
With an overall record of 17-2 and a 10-1 mark in the GLIAC, Grand Valley State is currently tied-for-15th in the nation this week by the WBCA.  The Lakers had their 14-game winning streak snapped with a 56-43 setback at Northern Michigan on Jan. 19.

Junior center Cassidy Boensch is currently second in the GLIAC, averaging a team-best 18.9 points per game.  Boensch is also first in the league with a 58.1 field-goal percentage and 11.9 rebounds per contest.  Junior guard Jenn DeBoer is first in the conference in free-throw percentage (90.2), third in assists per contest (4.2) and fourth in points per game (15.9).  Redshirt junior Victoria Hedemark is fourth in the GLIAC, averaging 2.4 steals per contest.
