Women's Swim and Dive Drops Meet at Northern Michigan

The Warriors are back in action at the Don Kimble Invitational, which begins on Nov. 19.

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- On the second day of back-to-back meets against Northern Michigan, the Wayne State University women's swim and dive team dropped the contest to the Wildcats.  The Warriors were upended 185-113. 

Individual Results
Jordan Fox (Melbourne, Australia) was strong in the 1,000-yard freestyle, as she won the event with a time of 10:48.69. 

Jia Yi Koh (Subang Jaya, Malaysia) collected a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.  She notched a time of 1:06.94. Koh also claimed second in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:23.94. 

In the 50-yard freestyle, the Warriors nabbed second and third. Marina Tarlev (Athens, Greece) touched out at 24.90, while Julia Brunner (Traverse City, Mich. / St. Francis) had a time of 24.98. 

Mikaela Senkus (Macomb, Mich. / Utica Academy for International Studies) won the 3-meter diving event, posting a final score of 251.85.  Marissa Woida (Lincoln Park, Mich. / Wyandotte Roosevelt) finished in third place with a score of 227.17.  In 1-meter diving, Senkus and Woida had the exact same finishes. Senkus had a score of 255.15, while Woida notched a score of 216.22. 

In the 500-yard freestyle, Hailee Waters (Dexter, Mich) finished in second place with a time of 5:28.09.  Following that, Brunner and Megan Elmquist (Davison, Mich.) grabbed second and third place in the 100-yard butterfly.  Elmquist then got second place in the 200-yard IM, while Ashleigh Allen (Clarkston, Mich.) placed third. 

Relay Results
The Green and Gold finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a team of Maddy Chorley (Burton, Mich. / Davison), Koh, Tarlev and Brunner.  That quartet had a time of 1:48.29. 

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Warriors team of Koh, Waters, Julia Katulski (Novi, Mich.) and Tarlev finished second.  That group had a time of 1:38.41.  Following them was the group of Sabine Branford (Plymouth, Mich. / Salem), Hannah Gurecki (Macomb, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse North), Isidora Sekaric (Windsor, Ont. / W.F. Herman Academy) and Fox.  They collected a time of 1:40.42. 

UP NEXT

The Warriors will take part in the Don Kimble Invitational, which is set for Nov. 19-21 in Kentwood, Mich.
