Women's Swim and Dive Falls to Oakland

The Warriors will hit the pool again on Jan. 28 at Calvin.

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- In its second day of action against Oakland University, the Wayne State University women's swim and dive team fell to the Golden Grizzlies by a final score of 197-82.  

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
The Warriors dominated the 1000 free, claiming first and second place.  Jordan Fox (Melbourne, Australia) touched out in first, posting a B-cut time of 10:22.74.  Barbara Munoz (Yumbo, Colombia) was just behind her, earning a time of 10:27.87. 

In the 200 free, Amelia Plonis (Macomb, Mich. / Utica Eisenhower) collected a third-place finish with a time of 2:01.28.  Not long after, Maddy Chorley (Burton, Mich. / Davison) took second in the 50 back, recording a time of 27.66.  

Julia Brunner (Traverse City, Mich. / St. Francis) tallied a third-place finish in the 50 free, collecting a time of 24.65.  Later in the meet, Munoz took third in the 100 free, touching out in 53.85.  

Chorley and Fox left their mark in the 200 back, finishing second and third, respectively.  Chorley recorded a time of 2:08.24, while Fox was just behind her, earning a 2:08.29.  Just one event later, Jia Yi Koh (Subang Jaya, Malaysia) claimed second place in the 200 breast.  She had a time of 2:25.61.  

Munoz and Brunner took second and third, respectively, in the 100 fly.  Munoz finished in 58.70, while Brunner posted a time of 58.96.  

In diving action, Mikaela Senkus (Macomb, Mich. / Utica Academy for International Studies) won the three-meter event with a score of 266.70.  She placed second in the one-meter event, collecting a score of 214.58.

RELAY RESULTS
The quartet of Chorley, Koh, Brunner and Marina Tarlev (Athens, Greece) took third in the 200 medley relay, notching a time of 1:47.58. 

To close the meet, the Warriors' team of Munoz, Tarlev, Brunner and Fox finished third in the 400 free relay.  The quartet touched out in 3:34.75.  

UP NEXT
The Green and Gold will look to get back on track, hitting the pool again on Jan. 28 at Calvin.  The meet is set to begin at 5 PM.
