Mikaela Senkus earns GLIAC Diver of the Week Honors

DETROIT --  The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following week six of the 2022-23 swimming & diving season, with junior Mikaela Senkus earning women's Diver of the Week honors. 

Senkus (Macomb, Mich. / Utica Academy for International Studies) has won her first GLIAC Diver of the Week award this season after a strong showing in a dual meet at Ashland on Oct. 29. Senkus was dominant in both diving events, as she collected victories in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions. In the one-meter diving event, Senkus posted a score of 259.20, which exceeded the NCAA Division II qualifying standards. In the three-meter competition, she had a score of 252.60, which was nearly 60 points better than the second-place finisher.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday against Findlay and Northern Michigan.  The meet will begin at 5 PM inside the Matthaei Natatorium.
