Women's Tennis Jumps Into ITA Rankings

The Warriors are ranked No. 50 nationally.

DETROIT -- After not being ranked a week ago, the Wayne State University women's tennis team (6-5 overall) moved to No. 50 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Poll released this morning.

The Warriors have earned a 4-3 record against Division 2 opponents, including wins over Saginaw Valley State and No. 23-Findlay.  The Green and Gold's five losses have come to either Division 1 foes or teams ranked ahead of them in the ITA poll.

Among GLIAC teams, WSU is the third highest rated team.  Grand Valley State checked in at No. 24, while Northwood was ranked No. 44.  The Warriors are 1-0 in conference play and continue their league schedule with a match at Purdue Northwest on March 25.
