Hunter DeLanoy Named GLIAC Player of the Week

The senior right fielder hit .524 this past week with three home runs.

DETROIT -- Graduate student outfielder Hunter DeLanoy (Hartland, Mich.) has been named GLIAC Player of the Week for the first time in his career. The Warrior right fielder hit .524 as the Warriors won three games to stay in the race for regular season conference title.

The 2019 GLIAC Freshman of the Year and two-time First Team All-GLIAC selection went 11-for-21 with three home runs, a triple and a double to drive in eight runs with total 23 bases. DeLanoy walked three times, scored 10 runs, while posting a .577 on-base percentage and a 1.095 slugging percentage. In game two vs. Purdue Northwest on Saturday, he went 4-for-5 with a home run.

The honor is WSU's eighth weekly awards of the season. Noah Miller and Ryan Korolden swept the awards on April 11. Karter Fitzpatrick was named GLIAC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 22, March 21 and April 18. Chris Tanderys earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors on March 7 and Korolden collected hist first weekly recognition on March 14.
