The WSU women turned in a 3.63 team GPA for the 2022-23 winter semester.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team was one of 718 squads named a Scholar All-American Team by the CSCAA (College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America) for academic success during the Winter 2022-23 semester.  Individually, 10 Warriors received First Team Scholar All-American honors.

The WSU women tied-for-14th nationally with a 3.63 GPA for the Winter 2022-23 semester, a clip that was also good enough for fourth among the top 17 programs that competed at the NCAA Championships.

The 10 WSU student-athletes receiving individual recognition were:

Sabine Branford (Plymouth, Mich. / Salem)
Evie Dice (Waterford, Mich. / Clarkston)

"The Wayne State women's swimming and diving team once again continues to astonish me with their excellence in the classroom and pool," said head coach Sean Peters.  "With a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships, having a team GPA over a 3.6, while seeing Elly, Sabine, Evie, Jordan, Hannah, Hasten, Izzy, Mikaela, Megan and Alli all become Academic All-Americans, I am very proud!"

In Division II, the Catawba women earned the highest team GPA (3.85) with Ouachita Baptist (3.78) coming in at No. 2. Tied-for-third were Cal-State East Bay (3.76) and Lenoir-Rhyne (3.76).
