GENEVA, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving squad garnered 33 points on Friday and remained in 14th place heading into the final day of competition on Saturday at the 2024 NCAA Division 2 Swimming and Diving National Championships.

Tampa leads with 349 points, while Drury (336), UIndy (302), McKendree (246) and Colorado Mesa (206) round out the top five.

Freshman Khalil Ben Ajmia (Tunis, Tunisia / Lycée Pierre De Coubertin) earned 16 points with a third-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:18.75

The WSU freshmen diving duo of Max Wasiniak (Huron, Mich.) and John Martin (Brownstown, Mich. / Woodhaven) garnered 12 and five points, respectively in the three-meter competition.

Wasiniak finished seventh in the championship finals with a score of 507.45, while Martin placed 12th with a score of 463.20 competing in the consolation finals.

Scheduled to compete for the Warriors on Saturday are Lorenzo Tassinari and Clayton Kinnard in the 200 Back, Trevor Jones in the 1650 free, followed by Ben Ajmia in the last heat of the 1650 free timed finals.

In addition, WSU is slated to have a 400 free relay quartet in the final event of the championships.
