Men's Tennis Strengthens Lineup With Two Transfers

DETROIT -- Wayne State University head men's tennis coach Bryan Morrow, who enters his 17th season leading the Warriors, has strengthened his lineup with the addition of two transfers (in addition to the four freshmen announced yesterday).  The six newcomers were needed to replace arguably the most prolific class in school history that reached the national quarterfinals three consecutive years, including playing in the national championship match in 2022.

Luis Klaus (Brühl, Germany / Archbishop's St. Ursula) will be a graduate student at WSU this fall, while Ben King is a transfer from Concordia-Ann Arbor (New Hudson, Mich. / South Lyon East).

The incoming freshmen are George Day (Southampton, United Kingdom / Peter Symonds College), Max Faniel (Theux, Belgium / Collège Saint-François-Xavier S.S.), Sam Knowles (North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England) and Tom Wasner (Hamburg, Germany / Friedrichsort Community School)

"My coaching staff and I are all very excited for all of our incoming players," remarked Morrow.  "We will have a very different team this year but the new players and coaches are looking forward to the challenges.  Our four freshmen - George Day, Maxence Faniel, Tom Wasner and Sam Knowles - can't wait to begin their college journey.  Ben King is looking to begin his sophomore year at WSU, while Luis Klaus will begin his journey at WSU as a graduate student.

"I feel that this recruiting class is very strong both in the classroom and on the court.  We are all ready to GET TO WORK!!!!
