DETROIT -- Max Wasiniak (Huron, Ohio) was named GLIAC Diver of the Week for the fourth time in his career and first time this season as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Competing for the first time this season on Saturday as part of Wayne State's inaugural Detroit Diving Classic, Wasiniak won at both the one-meter height and three-meter board (11 dives each) thanks to final scores of 475.30 and 489.35, respectively. With that, the junior diver has already earned the first of two required national cuts.
"Max has been locked in all season and the recognition from winning GLIACÂ Diver of the Week is well deserved," said head diving coach
Jason Trout. "He's had an excellent start to the season and continues to put in the work on a daily basis."
Following the Alumni Meet on Oct. 24, Wasiniak, his teammates and the women's team will be at nationally-ranked Northern Michigan on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 7-8.
