KENTWOOD, Mich. -- Opening up the 2025-26 season at the swimming-only Davenport Invitational on Friday and Saturday, the Wayne State University men's swimming and diving program won 12 of the 17 events it competed in. The Warriors paced the five-team field with a total of 1,048 points.
"The meet was a great success for the Warriors," said head coach
Sean Peters. "We went in with an open mind and wanted to gauge where we are at, and I think there is a lot of potential and there were successful performances. I didn't expect too much, as it is our first meet, but i definitely think that the goods were good, and the 'needs improved' will get there. Either way, we learned a lot this weekend, and happy we are under way."
