Thompson Earns GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors Following Career Night

DETROIT -- Wayne State University senior forward Taylor Thompson (Grand Blanc, Mich.) has been selected GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week following her performance against Hillsdale, as announced by the league office.

The WSU student-athlete earns the award after notching a career-high 33 points (13-of-22 FG, 3-of-5 3PT, 4-of-5 FT) in the 79-59 win over HC on Nov. 19.

Thompson totaled 21 points in the first half as the Warriors led 41-22 at the break.  She contributed seven rebounds and four assists in the victory.  On the defensive side of the court, the pre-season all-conference selection tallied five steals and one block vs. the Chargers.

This marks her fourth consecutive game in double figures, and the 33rd time in her collegiate career she reached double digits.

The WSU women's basketball team will take a 3-2 overall record into its contest at Northwood University on Wednesday, November 26, at Riepma Arena.  Tip-off is slated for 2:00 PM.

The Warriors will begin conference play on the road, as the squad travels to Purdue Northwest on Tuesday, December 2, before returning home to host Ferris State on Saturday, December 6.
