Softball Signs Four For 2026-27

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University softball program, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Nicole Tines, has signed four high school student-athletes to the class that will enter WSU this fall.

The Warrior coaching staff consisting of Tines, assistant coach Hannah Kelly, and graduate assistant coach Lindsey Hibbs have signed pitcher Abby Curtis (Saline, Mich.), outfielder Reese Dunny (Brighton, Mich. / Hartland), pitcher Mary Gugala (Northville, Mich.) and catcher/third baseman Ally Turkowski (Grand Blanc, Mich. / Fenton).

"Our program is very excited, to officially welcome our 2026 incoming freshman class," commented Tines.  "Every year, our goal as a staff is to move the needle, continue to compete, grow, and excel on the field and in the classroom, all while representing Wayne State University with the upmost pride.   As a staff we have been dedicated to developing a strong culture and recruiting top quality student athletes.  I know we currently have a team of student athletes who have put a lot of work into bringing our culture to life, while modeling our core values.  This current class embodies exactly what we are looking for in athletic, competitive ball players who know how to win and most importantly, who are also all in, on Wayne State Softball.  We have a very strong team and I am confident that with the addition of these student athletes, we will make some noise and continue to build for our future."
