NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- The 22nd-ranked Wayne State University men's golf team came up short of 18th-ranked Missouri S&T on Tuesday, day three of UIndy's Ken Partridge Invitational. The runner-up Warriors carded a three-round score of 866 (+2), seven strokes shy of the Miners 859 (-5).
"We had a good battle with Missouri S&T today," said head coach
Mike Horn. "It basically came down to the last couple of holes and they got the better of us on 18. Congratulations to
Josh DiCarlo finishing in the top five once again. I think we learned a lot from the last three days to take into our home event and then into the conference tournament. I think we found out the things we need to work on for the NCAA Tournament. I'm very happy with our progress, just didn't quite execute well enough in a few facets of the game. Guys are really battling and really getting ready for pressure situations."
