Men's Golf Among Top Five After Day One of NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional

The Warriors carded a six-over 294 as part of the two-way tie-for-fifth with Central Missouri.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf squad wrapped up its first 18 of 54 total holes on Thursday at the Katke Golf Course as part of the 2026 NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional.  The Green and Gold totaled a six-over 294 on day one, which is good enough for tied-for-fifth out of 20 programs.  The Warriors are tied with Central Missouri in the standings.

"As usual, we played in cold and very windy conditions," said head coach Mike Horn.  "A great round today by Andrew Daily and Jack Julian.  The hole locations and the green complexes were very difficult today.  Some of the best teams in the country struggled mightily and I am very proud of how our guys battled all day.  Tomorrow's a critical day for us to build upon our solid play today.  We need all five guys to be in the mix.  We can't have any outlier scores and we need at least two of our guys to do what they did today.  Very good start for the Warriors."
