Men's Golf Drops to 11th Through Two Days of Midwest/Central Super Regional

Wayne State carded a 12-over 300 for the second round of play.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf squad concluded its first 36 of 54 total holes on Friday evening at Ferris State's Katke Golf Course as part of the 2026 NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional.  The Green and Gold totaled a 12-over 300 on day two, which made their two-round total 594, good for 11th among the 20-team field.

"A very disappointing day for the Warriors," said head coach Mike Horn.  "As well as we executed yesterday, we did not execute today.  We gave great effort, but did not execute anywhere close to a championship team today.  We had a decent round from Andrew Daily and Will Pollack.  The NCAA Tournament requires more than that."

"I know we've got more in us and I hope we get solid execution from five guys tomorrow," added Horn.  "We don't have to break a school record tomorrow, but we've got to have every guy shooting somewhere around 70-71 and we would have a chance.  All in all this has been a successful year, but we want to give our best effort tomorrow so we don't have to think about what might have been."
