Women's Cross Country Has 12 GLIAC All-Academic Recipients

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's cross country team had 12 student-athletes garner Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic honors. Of the 12 recipients, 10 were selected to the All-Academic Excellence Team, marking the third consecutive year that the squad has produced 10 or more Excellence Team members. Including this year, the women's cross country team has had 53 runners earn GLIAC All-Academic Excellence accolades over the last five seasons.

Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, and not a freshman or a first-year transfer student.

Grade-point averages listed are calculated through the cross country season.

The 10 student-athletes that earned All-Academic Excellence Team distinctions for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 were seniors Natalie Davies (Chelsea, Mich.), Mattie Drennan (Clarkston, Mich.), Emily Gordon (Northville, Mich.), Reagan Justice (Canton, Mich. / Salem), and Layla Martini (Casnovia, Mich. / Kent City), redshirt junior Robin Bresolin (LaSalle, Ont. / St. Thomas of Villanova), juniors Aubrey Migoski (Wyandotte, Mich. / Roosevelt) and Briana Vojinov (Brownstown, Mich. / Woodhaven), redshirt sophomore Sarah Greb (Washington, Mich. / Romeo), and redshirt freshman Anna Gdowski (Northville, Mich.).

Bresolin (Environmental Science Honors - 3.81), Davies (Journalism - 3.93), Drennan (Exercise & Sport Science - 4.00), Gordon (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.58), Justice (Early & Elementary Education - 3.58), and Martini (Environmental Science - 3.85) were recognized for the third time, with Gordon and Justice both elevating from the All-Academic squad to the Excellence Team. Migoski (Nursing - 3.87), Vojinov (Psychology - 3.69), and Greb (Biochem & Chemical Biology - 3.65) made their second appearances on the Excellence Team, while Gdowski (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.65) received accolades in her first season eligible.

The two student-athletes to garner All-Academic honors for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-3.49 were senior Annalee Misch (Macomb, Mich. / Utica Eisenhower) and redshirt sophomore Rachel Felstow (Leonard, Mich. / Romeo).

Misch (Technology, Information Systems and Analytics - 3.45) was recognized for the third consecutive campaign while Felstow (Biological Sciences - 3.40) earned her second honor.

Justice was named an All-American following a 37th-place finish at the NCAA Championships while Vojinov garnered an All-Region distinction after placing 16th at the Midwest Regional. Migoski (59th), Drennan (73rd), Bresolin (74th), and Gordon (123rd) all saw action in the regional race as well, with Gdowski (42nd), Misch (56th), Greb (67th), and Davies (86th) competing at the GLIAC Championships.
