DETROIT -- Both Wayne State University swimming and diving teams were recognized recently by the CSCAA (College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America) as Scholar All-America Teams for the Winter/Spring semester.
The Warriors' women's squad, consisting of 22 student-athletes, posted a team GPA of 3.76 for the semester. That mark was tied-for-fifth and ranked third among those teams with at least 22 student-athletes.
The Wayne State men's roster, consisting of 26 members, posted a 3.23 term GPA.
Fourteen (14) Warriors also received CSCAA Individual Scholar All-America recognition.  To qualify for First Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
