Men's Golf Finishes Folds of Honor Challenge in Tie-for-Third

Wayne State split third place with Odessa College, a junior college in Texas.

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf team capped off its three-day stay at the Folds of Honor Challenge in a tie-for-third on Wednesday evening. The Warriors were deadlocked with Odessa College after a 54-hole total of 870 (+18, 296-281-293).

Individually for WSU, Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.), Josh Lahner (Roselle, Ill. / Lake Park) and Troy Chapman (Lexington, Ohio) each secured a top-25 finish in a tie-for-fourth, 23rd and tied-for-24th, respectively.

"A really strong event for a still inexperienced team," said head coach Mike Horn. "We were able to hang with Grand Valley State on their own course and except for one or two holes that we played very poorly, we did everything we were supposed to do. Very proud that we beat Dallas Baptist, Findlay and Indianapolis. Congratulations to Andrew Daily for a superb tie-for-fourth. Really good round today from Jack Julian bouncing back from two really tough rounds. Overall, we've got to correct some fundamental mistakes and it's off to the races for the Warriors."
