Women's Basketball Releases 2025-26 Schedule

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's basketball program, under the direction of 15th-year head coach Carrie Lohr, has announced its 2025-26 schedule which features 20 GLIAC contests, plus two home non-conference games, along with non-league road trips to former GLIAC members in Malone, Ashland, Northwood and Tiffin.  The road slate also contains a game at Toledo (Dec. 17), and the DII CCA Tip-Off Classic in Denton, Texas, on Nov. 7-8.

"We are excited to share that our season schedule will begin a little earlier than usual," remarked Lohr.  "We have been invited to participate in a Divisions II Conference Commissions Association Tip-Off Classic.  This is a first for our program and an exciting opportunity to compete against high level programs in the Lone Star Conference and Gulf South Conference.  Our strength of schedule  (SOS) last season was No. 3 nationally (opponent winning percentage of .606) and our schedule for 2025-2026 will be similar and remain very competitive.  GLIAC conference games will continue to be a battle with nine consecutive weekends of two league contests each."

As Coach Lohr mentioned above the Warriors will be traveling to Denton, Texas, for the DII CCA Tip-Off Classic hosted by Texas Woman's University.  WSU will face the host Pioneers on Friday, Nov. 7, followed by an afternoon contest against the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Wayne State travels to Malone (Nov. 14) and Ashland (Nov. 15) to commence in-region play, before playing back-to-back Wednesday tilts (Nov. 19 at home vs. Hillsdale), followed by a Nov. 26 date at Northwood.

December begins with the first two GLIAC games - at Purdue Northwest (Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. CT), and entertaining Ferris State (Dec. 6 at 1 p.m.).

The Warriors conclude their non-league slate with a trio of games - Dec. 9 at Tiffin (5:30 p.m.), Dec. 17 at Toledo (7 p.m.), and Dec. 20 at home vs. Findlay (1 p.m.).

The GLIAC schedule resumes with contests at Saginaw Valley State (Jan. 1 at 5:30 p.m.) and Lake Superior State (Jan. 3 at 1 p.m.).

After a road trip to Grand Valley State and Davenport (Jan. 8-10), the Warriors will host Parkside and Roosevelt (Jan. 15-17).  A U.P. trip to Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan (Jan. 22-24) precedes another split weekend with PNW visiting the WSU Fieldhouse on Jan. 29, before WSU travels to Big Rapids on Jan. 31.

Six of the final eight regular-season contests will be at the Fieldhouse starting with DU and GVSU (Feb. 5-7), followed by NMU and MTU (Feb. 12-14).

Road contests at Roosevelt (Feb. 19) and Parkside (Feb. 21) take place before the final weekend of regular-season play when LSSU (Feb. 26) and SVSU (Feb. 28) come to Motown.

The GLIAC tournament quarterfinals are slated for Wednesday, March 4 with the semifinals and finals scheduled for March 7-8.
