Women's Fencing Adds Two Freshmen for 2025-26 Campaign

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's fencing team under the direction of third-year head coach Andy Tulleners has added two student-athletes for the 2025-26 season.

The squad is gaining two sabreists in Shriya Bangalore (Frisco, Texas / Centennial) and Mikhala Rivers (Maple Grove, Minn. / DeLaSalle).

FROM COACH TULLENERS:
"With the addition of Mikhala (Rivers) and Shriya (Bangalore) the women's sabre squad is at full strength. Both ladies are very coachable and are great fits in our current roster and team."

Shriya Bangalore, 5-3, Fr., Frisco, Texas / Centennial
High School:  A 2025 graduate of Centennial High School ... received AP Capstone diploma, AP Scholar Award with Distinction and the AP Scholar Award ... served as a team captain as a senior ... competes for the Frisco Fencing Academy ... placed fifth out of 23 at the November 2024 Duel in Dallas Junior Women's Sabre ... participated in the summer nationals each of the last three summers (2022-23-24) in both the Division II and Division III Women's Sabre competition ...
