WSU Student-Athletes Continue To Excel In The Classroom

DETROIT -- The student-athletes at Wayne State University continue to excel in the classroom.  Eighty-three (83) student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.00 term GPA with 77 percent of Warrior student-athletes receiving at least a 3.00 for the Fall 2025 semester.  The entire student-athlete population posted a 3.38 term GPA, with a cumulative GPA for all student-athletes at 3.4651.  Over 79 percent of the student-athletes at the conclusion of the fall term have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, while nearly 57 percent have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.

Men's tennis led the way with a 3.778 term GPA as four of the 10 team members had a semester GPA of 4.0.  Other teams that had a stellar semester were women's fencing (3.753), softball (3.736), women's swimming/diving (3.709), volleyball (3.700), women's track and field (3.646), women's golf (3.634), baseball (3.604), women's cross country (3.573), men's cross country (3.547), and women's basketball (3.524).  Eleven (11) of the 17 teams had a term GPA of at least 3.52.

"Our student-athletes continue to show what's possible when standards, support, and commitment align," said WSU Director of Athletics Erika Wallace.  "These academic results reflect a culture that values growth and responsibility.  I'm grateful for the collective effort of our student-athletes, coaches, and our Student Support Services team, whose work is critical to this success as we continue building something meaningful together."
