Women's Soccer Announces More Recruits For Inaugural Season

DETROIT -- Doug Steinard, the inaugural head coach for the Wayne State University women's soccer program, continues to announce his first Warrior recruiting class.  This is the third of four recruit stories.

WSU previously announced the commitments of defenders Maya Bjedov (Brighton, Mich.), Camy Budzik (Oxford, Mich.) and Samantha Powers (Grand Ledge, Mich.), midfielders Emma Angus (Linden, Mich.) and Morgan Koskinen (Waterford, Mich. / Waterford Mott), along with forwards Lola Battaglia (Almont, Mich.), Sabrina Gaul (Troy, Mich.) and Ellie Whalen (Commerce Township, Mich. / Pontiac Notre Dame Prep).

This group of signees include defenders Dalia Jaghbir (Dearborn, Mich.) and Morgan Wilcox (Imlay City, Mich. / Lapeer) and midfielder Molly Labate (Clarkston, Mich.) bringing the total number of freshmen commitments to 11 for the Fall of 2026.

"We are very excited about our very first recruiting class," remarked coach Steinard.  "It is a group of great kids with lots of talent, character, and commitment.  We believe they will help us compete in our first year of the GLIAC.  The class is a balanced group of players who have a lot of experience playing at a high level, and we're confident they'll make an immediate impact on and off the field as we continue to build our program's foundation."

 Will be a 2026 graduate of Dearborn High School ... will be a four-year letterwinner for coach Tony Ventura ... named to the 2025 Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association All-Region squad ... received Second Team All-KLAA (Kensington Lakes Activities Association) recognition as a junior, after garnering All-KLAA honors each of her first two seasons ... selected to both the 2024 and 2025 Dearborn Press & Guide All-Area team ... tallied six goals and five assists for the Pioneers in 2025, after notching five goals and three assists as a freshman ... helped the Pioneers to a district title in 2024 ... aided in the Pioneers compiling a 41-18-3 record in her first three seasons ... will serve as a team captain this spring.

Personal:  Full name -- Dalia A. Jaghbir ... born on August 24, 2008, in Dearborn, Mich. ... daughter of Ali and Assia Jaghbir ... has a younger brother, Hassan, and a younger sister, Yasmine ... plans to major in Nursing ... name is pronounced DA-li-a JAG-beer.

Molly Labate, 5-1, MF, Fr., Clarkston, Mich. / Clarkston [Michigan Stars UWS]
High School:  Will be a 2026 graduate of Clarkston High School ... will be a two-year varsity letterwinner for coach Damian Huffer ... tallied 10 goals and 12 assists as a junior for the Wolves to earn Third Team Division 1 All-State recognition from the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association ... also competed in girls wrestling for CHS finishing fifth at the state competition as a freshman ... was a member of the Academic Honor Rolls.

Personal:  Full name -- Molly E. Labate ... born on May 29, 2007, in Clarkston, Mich. ... daughter of Kimberly Labate and Richard Labate ... has two older sisters, Abbey and Riley ... plans to major in Psychology.

Morgan Wilcox, 5-8, D, Imlay City, Mich. / Lapeer [Nationals]
High School:
 Will be a 2026 graduate of Lapeer High School ... will be a four-year letterwinner for coach Chad Kenny ... was a First Team All-Saginaw Valley League selection as a sophomore, then earned Second Team accolades as a junior ... received All-Academic Award each of her first three seasons.

Club Team:  Was a member of the national championship Nationals Union USYS U18 squad for coach Henry Steinwascher.

Personal:  Full name -- Morgan K. Wilcox ... born on October 29, 2007, in Flint, Mich. ... daughter of Matthew and Kristen Wilcox ... plans to major in Environmental Engineering.
