Women's Soccer Announces First Group of Transfers

Carrico, Helfen and Kelly join the Warriors.

DETROIT -- Doug Steinard, the inaugural head coach for the Wayne State University women's soccer program, has announced his first group of transfers as he builds his roster for the first season this fall.

These transfers are enrolling at WSU next week and will be members of the squad for the inaugural season in program history.

Becoming Warriors are midfielder Kate Carrico (Brighton, Mich. [Western Michigan]), goalkeeper Kate Helfen (Troy, Mich. [Cincinnati]), and defender Taryn Kelly (Allendale, Mich. / Hudsonville [Concord]).

"We are very excited to add our first group of transfers," commented Steinard.  "Each player comes from a different college experience.  We are looking forward to getting started and building the foundation this spring to take into next fall."
