Women's Basketball Inks Three High School Student Athletes

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's basketball program, under the direction of 16th-year head coach Carrie Lohr, has inked three high school student athletes to join the Warriors this fall. Coming to Motown are guards Olivia Miller (Avon Lake, Ohio), Keira Roehm (Saline, Mich.) and Averie Zinn (Genesee, Mich.).

"Our 2026 recruiting class of Averie, Keira and Olivia all represent our core values at Wayne State University Athletics: academic success, community engagement, and athletic excellence within NCAA Division II standards," commented Lohr. "They come from incredible families and reflect the type of person and player we want in our program. The WSU women's basketball team has compiled a 44-20 overall record during the last two seasons and reached the NCAA Regional Semifinals both seasons. The Warriors lost six seniors to graduation in Karrington Gordon, Gabi Lutchka, Taylor Thompson, Jaci Tubergen, Mackenzie Miller and Ashley Bower.
