High School: A 2005 graduate of Trenton ... earned two varsity letters for the Trojans under former WSU Tartar Vic Bechard (1977-78) ... struck out 19 batters against Belleville on April 25, 2005, to break J.J. Putz's (Seattle Mariners) Trenton High School record for strikeouts in a game ... went 10-3 in 82.1 innings pitched as a senior ... also recorded five saves and had 132 strikeouts for the season (10 away from Putz's school record) ... finished the year with a 1.51 ERA ... selected to the all-region, all-district, all-conference, All-Downriver Dream Team and all-metro teams in 2005 ... played in the 2005 East vs. West All-Star game at Comerica Park on June 23, 2005 ...
