COMPLETE RESULTS
GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wayne State University swimming team wrapped up its participation in the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational in fifth place, having achieved two more NCAA “A” qualifying times and seven “B” cuts on Saturday.
The first-place 200 medley relay of
Sara Franklin (Caro, Mich.),
Ana Gonzalez Pena (Gijon, Spain), Christina Busquets Garcia (Banyoles, Spain) and
Kayla Scott (Rochester, Mich./Adams) posted an “A” cut time of first 1:44.08.
Gonzalez Pena won the 200 breaststroke and posted an “A” cut (2:16.10). She also swam the second leg of the third-place 400 free relay, with Busquets Garcia, Scott and Franklin. The quartet had a “B” cut time of 3:29.85.
Three “B” cuts were reached in the 500 free.
Catherine Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) came in 11th (5:01.53),
Alycen Wiacek (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) won the bonus consolation heat and placed 19th overall (5:07.96), and
Stephanie Ekleberry (Rochester Hills, Mich./Avondale) finished 23rd (5:10.26).
Franklin, who made a “B” cut in the preliminary 200 backstroke (2:04.68), placed third in the final heat (2:05.68) while
Alex Malfroid (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower) came in 11th (2:08.23).
Agata Zalewska (Swietochlowice, Poland) finished 11th in the 100 butterfly (58.16).
Wayne State's next competition is Jan. 8 as the Warriors travel to Grand Valley State for a GLIAC dual meet.

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The WSU divers competed on the second day of the Eastern Michigan Invitational on Saturday.
On the one-meter board,
Carly Sevald (Royal Oak, Mich./Mercy) finished 10th (219.10),
Cassie Chetosky (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica) came in 12th (216.05) and
Paige Kortman (Holland, Mich.) placed 14th (210.45).
Emily Mitzelfeld (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) finished 17th (202.55) and
Meghan Jaworski (Dundee, Mich.) came in 20th (190.00).
