RESULTS: PRELIMS | FINALS
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - As the 2011 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships concluded Saturday night at Palo Alto Natatorium, the Wayne State University women's team secured its third consecutive runner-up finish, accumulating 388 points.
The Warriors finished 95.5 points behind Drury (483.5), which claimed its fourth national championship in the last five years. UC San Diego took third place (338).
Ana Gonzalez Pena earned her second individual NCAA championship of the week and the third of her career Saturday, winning the 200 breaststroke (2:12.89). She broke her own school record as well as the NCAA meet record of 2:13.80 established by UCSD's Rosanna Delurgio in 2005.
In total over the four-day meet, the Warriors accumulated three individual national championships and two relay titles.
Carol Azambuja broke her own WSU record in the 100 freestyle three times Saturday, first doing so with a time of 50.65 in the preliminary 100 free in the morning. She finished sixth in the championship final Saturday night (50.54) and broke the record again leading off the second-place 400 free relay (50.22).

Ashley Corriveau and
Sara Franklin closed out the evening by setting a school record of 3:22.44.
Franklin, who bested her own program record in the preliminary 200 backstroke (2:00.70), finished seventh in the final (2:01.40).
Catherine Leix placed fifth in the 1650 freestyle (17:07.80).
WSU also accumulated 43 points in three-meter diving.
Cassie Chetosky finished fifth (452.05) and
Carly Sevald placed sixth (444.20), while
Paige Kortman and
Emily Mitzelfeld came in ninth (385.10) and 10th (384.75) respectively, in the prelims.
The Warriors have made great strides in their annual performance at nationals. They placed 24th in 2006, 10th in 2007 and sixth in 2008 prior to their three straight second-place finishes.
