FINDLAY, Ohio
-- The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving squad dominated at Findlay on Friday, earning a 174-87 victory over the Oilers at the Sink Natatorium. The Warriors had the top time or score in 14 of the 16 men's events.

Senior Jordan Papp (Dearborn, Mich. / Edsel Ford) had the best times and touched the wall first in both the 500 freestyle (4:56.40) and 1000 freestyle (10:12.06) for WSU.

Senior Lucas Fernandez Vilanova (Valencia, Spain) placed first in the 200 freestyle (1:48.40) for the Warriors. Senior Cameron Fryzel (Auburn, Mich. / Bay City Western) finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:48.96).

Freshman Soren Holm (Rodovre, Denmark) won the 50 backstroke (24.13), with teammates Juan David Molina Perez (Medellin, Colombia) and Till Barthel (Hannover, Germany) placing second and third, respectively, with times of 24.43 and 24.68. Barthel was victorious in the 100 freestyle, posting a time of 48.03.

Sophomore Eric Gensheimer (Farmington, Mich. / Farmington) touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly (52.19), with Georgiy Yanin (Moscow, Russia / Berkley) placing second for the Warriors in a time of 54.92. Gensheimer also had the best time in the 50 butterfly, finishing in 23.09.

Sophomore Jayson Hansen (Grand Blanc, Mich. / Grand Blanc) raced to first in the 100 IM, recording a time of 55.11 and placed second in both the 100 breaststroke (59.82) and the 50 breaststroke (27.86) to lead WSU in those events.

Freshmen Josh Schacht (Schoolcraft, Mich. / Mattawan) and Zach Zylstra (Zeeland, Mich. / Zeeland East) finished 1-2 in the 50 freestyle, earning times of 22.19 and 22.44, respectively.

Junior Dylan Szegedi (Oregon, Ohio / St. Francis de Sales) won both diving competitions, posting scores of 300.65 (one-meter board) and 307.50 (three-meter board). Freshman Adam Littell (Holland, Mich. / Hamilton) had a score of 288.40 on the three-meter springboard and 275.95 on the one-meter board.

Molina Perez also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.48.

WSU raced to first in both relays. The quartet of Fernandez Vilanova, Schacht, Gensheimer and Molina Perez combined for a time of 1:26.55 in the 200 freestyle relay. The relay team of Molina Perez, junior Nick Victor (Chesterfield, Mich. / Anchor Bay), Gensheimer and Barthel posted a time of 1:36.47 in the 200 medley relay.

Wayne State next competes Friday, Jan. 24 at Eastern Michigan for a 5 p.m. dual meet.
