GRAND RAPIDS, MIch. – The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team won its second-straight meet over Calvin, 145-96, on Friday evening. The Warriors collected 10 first-place finishes of the 13 events, nine individual and one relay.
RELAY RESULTS- The quartet of senior
Elly Maleski (Cedar, Mich. / Traverse City West), junior
Emily Heitchue (Royal Oak, Mich.), freshman
Delayni Kornak-Kotarba (Comstock Park, Mich. / Rockford) and sophomore
Meghan Lamb (East China, Mich. / St. Clair) earned first place in the 200 medley with a time of 1:49.11. Wayne State also placed second in this event (1:50.52) with the foursome in sophomore
Abi Johns (Holland, Mich.), senior
Hannah Loesch (Pensacola, Fla.), junior
Emily Maraskine (Midland, Mich. / Dow), and sophomore
Makayla Myers (Hudsonville, Mich.).
- The Warriors finished third in the 200 freestyle relay. Freshmen
Hannah Berich (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams),
Ellie Dean (Midland, Mich. / Dow),
Morgan Kollen (Zeeland, Mich. / West) and junior
Kallie Krueger (South Lyon, Mich.) posted a time of 1:46.14.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS- Freshman
Lezlie Bueno Estrada (Montes Urales, Mexico) set a NCAA "B" Standard after winning the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.98. She was also victorious in the 100 freestyle touching the finish line at 52.59. Bueno Estrada has finished first in both these events for the second-straight meet.
- The Warriors claimed the top-four finishes in the 1650 freestyle with Kollen winning the event in 18:06.08. Sophomore
Skyler Muzichuk (Clinton Twp., Mich. / International Academy of Macomb) placed second (18:09.29), while senior
Mallory Moore (West Bloomfield, Mich.) and senior
Kaylee Dolinski (Livonia, Mich. / Stevenson) finished third and fourth with times of 18:11.06 and 18:17.31, respectively.
- WSU took the top-four places in the 400 IM. Berich finished first with a time of 4:41.39, while classmate
Tai Furnari (Pleasant Ridge, Mich. / Ferndale) placed second (4:42.64). Senior
Veronica Loock (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester) recorded a third-place finish (4:50.12) and Dean finished fourth (4:52.68).
- Maraskine was victorious in the 100 backstroke with a mark of 1:00.29 and junior
Brenna Gabrielson (Livonia, Mich. / Stevenson) finished second (1:00.70). Freshman
Emily Marginean (Tecumseh, Ont. / Riverside S.S.) posted a third-place finish (1:01.76), while Kornak-Kotarba placed fourth (1:02.67).
- Myers notched a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.45 and Johns and Muzichuk placed second (1:00.78) and third (1:02.75), respectively.
- Lamb won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.31.

Elizabeth Rawlings (Armada, Mich. / Romeo) garnered a first-place finish in the three-meter diving events with a score of 270.75, while placing second in the one-meter (245.90). Senior
Alex Geddis-McCririe (Brighton, Mich.) finished first in the one-meter (253.95) and second in the three-meter with a score of 254.55.
UP NEXT- WSU will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to compete in the Eastern Michigan Invitational on Dec. 4-5. The opening night is slated for 6 p.m. at Jones Natatorium.
