J.V. Women's Basketball Falls At Macomb CC

WARREN, Mich. -- The Wayne State University junior varsity women's basketball team lost its first exhibition game, 68-60, on Wednesday at Macomb Community College.

Junior Sadia Johnson (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Central) led WSU with 20 points, followed by redshirt sophomore Chavon Tiggs (Flint, Mich. / Dearbon Heights Robichaud) with 14 points.

Freshman Grace George (DeWitt, Mich.) finished in double figures as well, scoring 11 points for the Warriors.

Other scorers included freshman Kate Sherwood (Canton, Mich. / Belleville) with nine points and redshirt senior Liza Torgerson (Barrett, Minn. / West Central Area Secondary) with six points.

The WSU JV squad will play its final exhibition game at home against Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Thursday, Nov. 1, with tip-off at 7:15 PM.
