J.V. Women's Basketball Defeats Concordia J.V.. 80-49

The Warriors finished undefeated in the regular season.

Junior Lyndsey Matus led the squad with 21 points.
DETROIT -- The J.V. women's basketball squad (4-0 overall) notched an 80-49 victory over the J.V. Concordia University team in its final contest of the season.

Senior Liza Torgerson (Barrett, Minn. / West Central Area Secondary) was recognized prior to tip-off, as it was her final game at WSU.  She joined the squad for the 2016-17 season and became one of Wayne State's top scorers.  Torgerson will be graduating this spring as a Nutrition and Food Science major.  Torgerson finished her basketball career scoring the final two points of the night from the charity stripe.

Junior Lyndsey Matus (Millbury, Ohio / Toledo Central Catholic) led the Warriors with 21 points, only shooting from beyond the arc.

Junior Sadia Johnson (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Central) totaled 20 points, including two triples.

Redshirt senior Daejia Hill (Muskegon, Mich. / Orchard View) tallied 18 points for WSU.

Also scoring in double digits were Torgerson with 11 points and junior Teresa Diehl (St. Clair Shores, Mich. / Warren Regina) with 10 points.
