Men's Fencing Has Success at Remenyik Open

Two current Warriors bring home gold.

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Wayne State University men's fencing program faired very well at the Remenyik Open on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day event was hosted by Northwestern.

FOIL RESULTS
Quinlyn Morgan (Olathe, Kan. / Homeschooled / Olathe East) tied-for-third, losing in the semifinal round after going 9-2 overall.

Jacob Pochmara (Waterford Twp., Mich. / Clarkston) won five of his seven bouts to finish in 22nd place.

EPEE RESULTS
Ahmed Elsayed (Tanta, Gharbia, Egypt) won the epee gold by finishing 11-0.

Ramadan Dinkins (Chicago, Ill. / GCE Lab School) posted a 6-3 record and finished 13th.

SABER RESULTS
Former All-American and current assistant coach Ziad Elsissy went 10-0 in his way to winning gold.

UP NEXT
Wayne State will return to the strip on Nov. 21st for the Danosi Open at the Mort Harris Recreation & Fitness Center.
