Both Swimming/Diving Teams Receive Spring 2021 Scholar All-America Team Recognition from CSCAA

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's and women's swimming and diving squads both received Scholar All-America honors for the Winter/Spring term as determined by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).  Selections were made on the basis of their Winter/Spring grade point averages.

The men's squad compiled a 3.28 GPA for the term as 17 of the 30 student-athletes on the squad had at least a 3.5 semester GPA.  The women's team was even better as the 26 student-athletes combined for a 3.71 term GPA with 19 earning at least a 3.5 for the semester.  The women's program ranked eighth in all of Division 2.

The men's squad finished ninth nationally at the NCAA Championships and was tied-for-25th in Division II in terms of GPA rank.  In fact, only four of the schools that finished ahead of WSU at the NCAAs had a higher GPA.

The women's team finished 21st nationally at the NCAA Championships.  Only Queens (NC) finished ahead of WSU at the NCAAs and had a higher GPA.
