Men's Golf in the Hunt at Findlay

The Warriors posted a 287 in the second round on Monday to improve to third place from seventh.

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's golf program began play at the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational hosted by Findlay on Monday. The Warriors are tied-for-third with a 581 (294, 287), posting the third best team score of the second round to surge up the leaderboard. WSU was in seventh after the opening round.

The 54-hole event is being played at the Findlay Country Club (Par 72 / 6,747 Yards).

LEADING THE WAY
Josh DiCarlo (Amherstburg, Ont. / General Amherst) and Garret Day (Chatham, Ont. / Ursuline College Chatham) are tied-for-16th with matching 144s. DiCarlo shot 72s in both rounds, while Day went 74 and then 70. Andrew Kolar from Ashland is the low individual with a 137 (70, 67).

THE FIELD
UIndy shot a 571 and leads the 18-team field, while UMSL (574) is second and Findlay (581) and Wayne State are even with 18 holes to play. Chasing the top four teams are Ashland (582), Tiffin (584), Findlay B-Team (585), Grand Valley State (586), Walsh (586) and Trevecca Nazarene (589).

WSU RESULTS
Sean Niles (Northville, Mich. / Detroit Catholic Central) is tied-for-26th with a 146 (72, 74). Matt Pelak (Mattawan, Mich.) carded a 147 (76, 71) and Mat Hawryluk (Chatham, Ont. / Ursuline College Chatham) tallied a 155 (76, 77).
