Ofield Claims Co-Medalist Honors as Men's Golf Places Second at Belterra Classic

The rookie joins Harrison Chapman and Josh Lahner as Warriors to have won individual titles this season.

FLORENCE, Ind. -- Competing in just his second tournament as a collegiate golfer, freshman Grant Ofield (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern) of the Wayne State University men's golf squad garnered Co-Medalist honors at Cedarville's Belterra Classic on Tuesday afternoon.  Ofield, who tied with first-place Missouri S&T's Rizq Adam Rohizam, helped lead the Warriors to a second-place showing among the 10-team field.

"How about a congratulations to Josh (Lahner) and Grant (Ofield) today for playing so well," said head coach Mike Horn.  "Overall, the boys fought hard again, but we've got to get off to a better start.  Certainly a good showing overall.  I'm happy with where we're at, but we've got to accelerate our fast starts.  Congratulations to Missouri S&T on their win and congratulations to (Rizq) Adam (Rohizam) on his co-medalist honor."

Ofield and Rohizam were deadlocked at four under following 54 holes of regulation and remained tied through four playoff holes before being declared Co-Medalists.  Overall, Ofield's 209 included rounds of 71, 69 and 69, the first two rounds in the 60s of his career as well as the second and third that were below par.

Next up on the schedule will be Wayne State's final event of the 2025-26 regular season, the  Ohio Dominican Bill Blazer Memorial Match Play.  To be played on April 11-12, the tournament will be played at Lancaster Golf Club in Lancaster, Ohio.
