RICHMOND, Ky. -- The Wayne State University men's golf team wrapped up its second tournament of the spring on Tuesday afternoon, the Findlay Spring Invitational at Boone's Trace National Golf Club. The Warriors tied-for-fifth among 20 total squads thanks to a three-round total of 863 (-1, 298-285-280).
Individually,
Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.) and
Troy Chapman (Lexington, Ohio) both tied-for-12th among 109 total players that completed all three rounds of action. Daily (73-71-69) and T. Chapman (74-72-67) both carded a 54-hole mark of 213, good for three under par.
"The Warriors battled today," said head coach
Mike Horn. "We got it going a little bit too late, but played really solidl yesterday for most of the second round and all of today in the third round. Congratulations to
Troy Chapman and
Andrew Daily on their three-under finishes total for the tournament. We certainly didn't have our game in the first round and you can't fall behind a good field by so many shots like we did and catch up so I'm very happy to finish tied-for-fifth after our start. We're looking forward to next week and coming out a little stronger to start the event."
