Men's Fencing Concludes Regular Season at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Wayne State University men's fencing program competed at the Northwestern Winter Duals on Saturday and Sunday, going 0-8. Despite no team victories, the three fencers faired well during the two-day event inside Ryan Fieldhouse just outside Chicago. WSU lost to Stanford (4-23), North Carolina (7-20), Ohio State (4-23) and Incarnate Word (8-19) on day one before matching up with Northwestern (6-12), Air Force (8-19), San Diego (6-19) and Boston College (5-22) on day two.

EPEE RESULTS
Ahmed Elsayed (Tanta, Gharbia, Egypt) was impressive this past weekend, going 19-5 in the epee to lead WSU's results.

SABRE RESULTS
Newcomer Eyad Marouf (Alexandria, Egypt) finished 15-6 in the sabre over the two days.

FOIL RESULTS
Quinlyn Morgan (Olathe, Kan. / Homeschooled / Olathe East) battled his way to a 13-11 mark in the foil.

UP NEXT
The Warriors will begin the postseason at the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships back at Northwestern on Feb. 26-27.
