Men's Golf Sixth in Midwest Region

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University men's golf team appeared at sixth in the initial set of NCAA Regional Rankings released on Friday.  The Warriors have competed at the NCAA Regionals 11 of the last 14 seasons it was held.  The Green & Gold are coming off a win at the BrownGolf Intercollegiate.

The NCAA selects 10 teams from each region to compete in the postseason in one of four "super regionals" where each region is paired with another to play in a 20-team field.  Five teams from the Midwest Region/Central Region Super Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, as well as the top two individuals not on an advancing team.  The field will be announced on April 22 via NCAA.com release.

The Midwest Region will be grouped with the Central Region and the 20 teams will play at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind., on May 5-7.  Wayne State is hosting the NCAA Championships in partnership with the Detroit Sports Commission on May 16-20 at TPC of Michigan in Dearborn.

In addition, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released its poll on March 11th and WSU was listed in the "Others Receiving Votes" section.
