Men's Golf Ends Season at NCAA Super Regionals

The Warriors were 16th in the 20-team field.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- The Wayne State University men's golf finished competition at the NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional on Saturday and posted a 913 (296, 304, 313) to finish in 16th place.  The three-day event was played at Purgatory Golf Club (Par 72 / 7,707 Yards).  The top six teams and top two individuals not on those teams advance to the finals at TPC Michigan in Dearborn on May 16-20.  The Warriors played in the NCAA postseason for the 14th time since 2004.

LEADING THE WAY
WSU's top golfer is Sean Niles (Northville, Mich. / Detroit Catholic Central) who tied-for-44th with a 227 (74, 74, 79).  Charles Delong from Grand Valley State won a playoff hole after posting a 215 (69, 71, 75) to take home medalist honors.

THE FIELD
Central Missouri won the team title with an 884 (288, 293, 303), edging GVSU (884) in a playoff hole.  Arkansas Tech (891) was third, while UIndy (894), UMSL (896) and Findlay (896) advance to the finals.

WSU RESULTS
Josh DiCarlo (Amherstburg, Ont.) posted a 228 (74, 76, 78), while Ian Smith (Canton, Mich. / Plymouth) carded a 229 (73, 77, 79).

Tyler Hurtubise (Essex, Ont.) has tallied a 156 (75, 81) shot a 233 (75, 81, 77) and 
Garret Day (Chatham, Ont.) finished with a 234 (76, 77, 81).
