HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team secured a second-place finish with 839 points on Saturday night at the 2023 GLIAC Championships. Individually,
Mikaela Senkus was named Diver of the Year after winning both the one meter dive on Wednesday and three meter dive on Friday.
Overall, the Warriors were responsible for five titles including both of Senkus',
Jordan Fox in the 1000 free (Wednesday),
Alli Vassilakos in the 1650 free (Saturday), and the GLIAC record-breaking 800 free relay team of
Isidora Sekaric, Fox,
Barbara Munoz, and Vassilakos (Friday).

"After a long and successful week, I am proud that our Warriors not only turned in some amazing performances, but also really gained some wonderful experiences with each other," said head coach,
Sean Peters. "They all competed hard and gave it their all. I am proud of them, and of our seniors, who have been great teammates and role models. They have been through a lot over their careers, but I know they gained a lot with this program and their teammates. Proud of our Warriors!"
