GLIAC -- Mat Hawryluk (Chatham, Ont. / Ursuline College Chatham) of the Wayne State University men's golf team was named GLIAC Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career on Tuesday.

The honor comes after Hawryluk claimed medalist honors at the UIndy Invitational on Tuesday with a nine-under 207 (67-73-67), just three strokes off the program record for 54 holes.  Hawryluk carded a 67 in both the first and third rounds, a new low for the senior and only two shots more than the school record.  He also birdied four holes in the back nine and three of the four from holes 15 through 18.

For his career, Hawryluk is now up to seven top-10 finishes (two this season) and 16 placings inside the top 25 (three this season).

Hawryluk and the Warriors will next be in action at Lawrence Tech's Blue Devils Classic on Oct. 9-10 at The Dream & The Nightmare Golf Course in West Branch, Mich.
