GROSSE ILE, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf squad won its third tournament of the season on Tuesday, claiming first place at its own Motor City Shakedown. The Warriors stood atop the four-team field at West Shore Golf Club after a two-day score of 848 (-4, 277-289-282). Individually,
Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.) and
Josh Lahner (Roselle, Ill. / Lake Park) claimed Co-Medalist Honors thanks to a four-under 209.
Daily became a three-time winner (2024 Ken Venturi Invitational & 2026 Cavalier Fall Invitational) and Lahner added a second individual trophy to his case (2026 Pawleys Island Beach Bash).
"Congratulations to Andrew and Josh on being Co-Medalists," said head coach
Mike Horn. "And congratulations on the team for picking up our third victory of the fall and completing a very successful fall campaign. As I said, I think in one of these recaps, we are in a great position and have laid a really solid foundation for our spring, but in order to get past NCAA Super Regionals to the National Finals, we've got to really focus on specifics. We will work on those all winter and look forward to executing that come spring time. Solid performances by the entire squad for the whole fall gives me very enthusiastic anticipation for what's ahead."
