GLIAC -- Redshirt senior
Josh DiCarlo (Amherstburg, Ont. / General Amherst) of the Wayne State University men's golf team was named GLIAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career on Thursday.
DiCarlo garnered runner-up honors out of 90 golfers on Tuesday at the Findlay Spring Invitational and led Wayne State to the team title in an 18-team regional field. The Canadian carded a three-round score of 211 (-5, 67-75-69) for his highest finish since winning the BrownGolf Intercollegiate on March 12, 2022.
In a field consisting of 18 schools on Monday and Tuesday, all of which come from the Midwest Region, Wayne State went 17-0. That triumph marked the Warriors' first season with two tournament titles since 2021-22 and first campaign with two in the spring alone since 2017-18. This season, WSU has been at least third in six of its 10 events.
Next up on the schedule for the Warriors is their own Motor City Shakedown on Monday, April 1 at TPC Michigan in Dearborn.
