PLYMOUTH, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's golf team is in fourth place among 10 squads through two rounds of Hillsdale's Get To Foundation Invitational at Saint John's Golf Resort. The Warriors carded rounds of 299 and 295 on Monday for a total of 594 or 18 over, just three strokes outside of the top three.
"The Warriors battled today basically playing one man short the whole day as
Adam Burghardt hurt himself with a back problem on the seventh hole," said head coach
Mike Horn. "I'm very proud of the guys for battling one man down and putting ourselves in a position to be able to make a run tomorrow. Great round by
Ian Smith and
Luc Warnock in the afternoon and a great job from
Tyler Hurtubise to finish off his first round with five birdies in his last six holes. Big day tomorrow again playing one man short, most likely."
