Men's Golf Holds Steady in Fourth Place to Conclude Doc Spragg Fall Invitational

Wayne State featured three players among the 90-player field's top 25.

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Wayne State University men's golf team finished the second and final day of Findlay's Doc Spragg Fall Invitational right where it wrapped up the first, in fourth place.  The Warriors were among the top five in a 17-team field thanks to a 54-hole score of 866 (+2, 284-288-294), just seven strokes behind Missouri-St. Louis and the Oilers in a tie-for-first.

"Our inexperience caught up with us today," said head coach Mike Horn.  "We played very very well this morning, but just had a couple of mistakes in critical spots.  I'm very proud of how this team played all fall and every tournament we played in, we held the lead at one point.  We will learn from this, get better and will execute better down the stretch come this spring and in following years.  Congratulations to Troy (Chapman) for finishing in the top five and overall, all six guys battled very well for all three rounds.  But we've gotta learn from this going forward and we will."
